The cheapest way to get Wegovy depends on one thing: whether your insurance covers GLP-1s for weight loss. With coverage, the manufacturer savings card brings your out-of-pocket to as little as $25/month. Without coverage, NovoCare’s direct-to-cash Wegovy pill at $149/month is the floor. Step 1: Check insurance (60 seconds, saves potentially hundreds)
If your commercial insurance covers Wegovy for weight loss, the Novo Nordisk savings card brings your out-of-pocket to as little as $25/month for the first 13 fills. That is cheaper than every cash option, including compounded, and it is FDA-approved.
Two things to know: the savings card is not usable if you have government insurance (Medicare, Medicaid, TRICARE). And coverage varies wildly by plan — even inside the same insurer, different employers negotiate different formularies.

Step 2: If cash, NovoCare Wegovy pill is your floor
Novo Nordisk launched NovoCare in 2025 as a direct-to-cash channel bypassing insurance and pharmacy-chain markup. The Wegovy pill at $149/month is currently the lowest FDA-approved cash price for branded semaglutide anywhere. Full detail: Wegovy and Zepbound savings cards.
If you specifically want the injectable rather than the pill, NovoCare’s cash injectable is around $499/month — a lot more than the pill. Unless you have a clinical reason for the injectable, the pill is usually the smarter cash choice.
Step 3: If you want to go lower, compounded is the trade-off
Compounded semaglutide contains the same active ingredient as Wegovy but is not the FDA-approved product. Reputable programs start around $139/month cash — a real savings over $149 branded, but a different product with different quality controls.

What about Ozempic (off-label for weight loss)?
Ozempic is FDA-approved for type 2 diabetes, not weight loss. Doctors can prescribe it off-label, but insurance rarely covers Ozempic for weight loss, and the Ozempic savings card excludes off-label use. In practice: not usually the cheapest route unless you also have a diabetes diagnosis.
What about GoodRx or coupon sites?
GoodRx and similar coupon programs occasionally show Wegovy discounts, but the discounts are usually smaller than the manufacturer savings card. And GoodRx and the manufacturer card cannot stack. Try the savings card first through your insurance; use GoodRx as a fallback only.
